"I had purple ankles and heels that were getting darker and darker. I was embarrassed to wear skirts, shorts or sandals. My family physician sent me to a podiatrist. He did not take an ultrasound or any type of test. He told me to use a support stocking and live with it. I went for acupuncture and massage. This helped for an hour or two and then back to purple. A Dermatologist told me I needed an ultrasound and possible vein lasering, an office procedure. I was finally given a direction and numbers to call, none of which returned my messages.
